Elizabeth Hemmings
Hi, I am Elizabeth Hemmings, the primary author and contributor to this blog. I also recently wrote and published the book, Easy Green Cleaning.
The reason I decided to get involved in this project is because of my passion based on experiences in my own life; that small changes towards living a greener and healthier lifestyle can lead to big results. It all started with my cleaning journey when I was first introduced to green cleaners once I learned about how toxic conventional cleaners were. When I started green cleaning, I was shocked at how easy and effective these cleaners were to make and that they could replace 100% of my conventional cleaning products. It made me enjoy cleaning so much more. It made me wish I had been using them my entire adult life and I wanted to make people aware of the positive impact they had on me and encourage others to use them as well.
Once I had converted my cleaners, I started to consider what was in my personal care products and was shocked at what I found. I then dove into the world of making my own personal care products and purchasing products that were more consciously made. I could not have been happier with the results and found my new Holy Grail products that no conventional products could ever replace. My hair and skin have never looked better after making the switch and I have never looked back or missed a conventional product in the slightest.
After that, changes just seemed to cannonball. I started to just be more aware of the things I used and their effect on the planet. I started using more reusable items, being far less wasteful, recycling more, and focusing on conservation. I found it was so simple to make most of these changes and they have such a positive impact on the environment especially if enough people do them. I also took my diet to the next level not by going on any crazy fad diets but by eating real well sourced foods that nourish my body with no chemical additives or hard to pronounce ingredients. Through this process my skin cleared up, my mood got so much better, my energy increased, and I quit getting sick (seriously it is a rare occurrence).
These changes have truly transformed my life on such a grand scale I felt it would be selfish of me to not share what I learned with other people. Especially because I am the type of person that will spend a ridiculous amount of time doing research and figure out the best way to do things. I figured why not share what I have learned. I am not perfect nor do I expect you to be this blog is about progress not perfectionism. This blog will also feature content on things like entrepreneurship, motivation, supporting causes and figuring out how to change the world for the better!
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and read about this blog! I look forward to getting to know the readers better though this process and am excited about the opportunity to work together to effect change for a better world!
